Ocean mist runs along the stretching endless tide
Salty air running through my veins making me feel alive.
Scanning the horizon for a vessel so far out at sea?
This is the world that is the one and only me.

Foghorn at a distance warning of an incoming storm?
Cold winds whisper softly in my ear to keep me warm.
A gull swoops down hoping to find its next gourmet meal here.
It does not matter what the weather or the time of year.

Foam upon the sand and whitecaps off the shore?
Makes me wish I could stay and leave here nevermore.
Alas I sigh and turn my head and slowly walk away.
Knowing when I need my home it will be here another day.

As my feet step off the sand I turn my head around?
Hating once again to step back onto the hardened ground.
I stare off into the horizon as a warm hand brushes my face.
I look up into your eyes seeing the sea reflecting in its place.

You put your arms around me and I recall why it is time to leave.
Yours arms the calming place that keep my heart harbored safely.
