Autumn Splendor
The cat-tails
birth an icy
twin
As suns warmth
begins to win
And from its
host it gently
slips
Then in double
imagery
delicately sits

Icy crystals
paint the
grasses white
Sparkling in the
dawns first
light
Then crunches
loudly as I walk
With bent and
broken frozen
stalk

A fluffy cloud
of morning mist
Above the pond
and trees it
lists
Ducks weave
patterns,
rippled trails
In and out of
the fogs thick
veil

A moose bid
from shoreline
beckon
Then silence
reigns for just
a second
And in the
distance an
answering call
That has the
male stand proud
and tall

He snorts his
joy for all to
hear
Waking up this
tranquil mere
As into the bush
he noisily
retreats
His future mate
to find and
greet

A chorus from
the deep blue
sky
As geese to
winter homes do
fly
In perfect V
they grace my
view
My how I wish to
soar with you

With suns
rising the trees
steal awe
Such painted
colors without
flaw
All the spectrum
bright and clear
Tis natures
beauty without
peer

The leaves like
multicolored
snow
So gently float
to ground below
To spread their
murals at my
feet
My private
gallery, such a
treat

I wander about
the forest floor
Pictures
painted, search
for more
Peace and
beauty, heart
and soul
Oh how this
setting grants
console

The air so crisp
and clean this
morn
Each breath a
cloud of mist
adorn
Power and
majesty in all I
see
Autumn splendor
sets spirits
free.
